Endosmosis:

  1. Endosmosis is the inward movement or diffusion of water molecules from a less solute concentration to a high solute concentration through a semipermeable membrane.
  2. It is observed when a cell is placed in a hypotonic solution and as a result, the cell becomes swollen or fully distended.
  3. It occurs when the surrounding solution has less concentration of solute as compared to that cytoplasm.
