• When a gas is cooled, it changes into a liquid.
• The process of changing a gas into liquid on cooling is called condensation.
• Example Steam changes into the water on cooling.
• When gas is cooled its particles lose kinetic energy and so the force of attraction between its particles increases, due to which gas changes into a liquid.
