Heterotrophic cell:

The cells which can't produce food for themselves and depend on autotrophic cells for food are called heterotrophic cells.

  1. Cell wall, plastids are absent in these cells.
  2. Either vacuole is absent or if present they are numerous and small.
  3. Lysosomes, centrosome are exclusive features of these type of cells.

Example: Most of all animal cells are heterotrophic cells.
