Solution

Ovovivipary:

  1. It is also known as ovoviviparity, ovoviviparous, or ovivipary.
  2. It is a method of reproduction in animals where embryos which develop inside eggs remain in the mother's womb until they are ready to hatch.
  3. This reproductive method is similar to viviparity, despite the fact that there are no placental connections of the embryo with the mother.
  4. The embryo receives its nourishment from a yolk sac.
  5. In some species, this nutritional requirement is fulfilled by uterine secretions or another maternal provisioning.
