1. The efficiency of a machine is defined as the ratio of the output that is useful work done by the machine to input that is useful work done on the machine.
2. It is given as $Efficiency=\frac{Output}{Input}\times 100\%$
3. Practically no machine has an efficiency equal to 100%. If a machine has efficiency equal to 100% that machine is called an ideal machine.
