Magnetic poles- The point situated at either ends of a magnet where magnetic field is maximum and strongest. Their are two magnetic poles in any magnet, they are north poles and south poles.
Magnetic axis- It is an imaginary straight line which joins the two pole of a magnet. It is also the central line of the bar magnet that crosses both the poles with applied torque.
Effective length of a magnet- According to the standard definition, the effective length is the distance between the two poles of the magnet and is always less than the geometric length of the magnet, but the actual relationship between them is depends on the shape of the magnet.
