Solution

Evolution is the process of accumulation of genetic differences in the living organism over the period and generating new varieties of living organisms.

Examples of evolution:

  • Evolution of eyes: The development of the well-developed complex eyes in organisms has occurred gradually over a period in many stages.
  • The structure of the eyes present in different organisms is different and indicates the stage of the development of the eye.
  • For example, the organism Planaria have less developed eyes as compared to humans. The rudimentary eyes of this organism can detect light only and appear like eyespots. These are helpful for the survival of the organism and represent an intermediate stage of the development of the eye.
