Describe a chemical reaction given only by primary amines.

In this reaction, the ethylamine ( a primary amine) is heated with alcoholic potassium hydroxide and chloroform.

If a primary amine is present, the isocyanide (carbylamine) is formed which are foul smelling substances. Hence, this reaction is given only by primary amines.
