The following experiment can be done to proves that plants transpire:

Apparatus:

• One growing plant
• Clear plastic packs
• Tape

Methodology:

• Take a potted plant after keeping it under sunlight for at least 3 hours.
• Cover the plant using a plastic cover and secure the pack on the stem with tape.
• Make sure to fill the plastic bag with air (without blowing into it) before sealing up the pack.
• Place the set up inside the house overnight. Observe the next morning.

Result:

The droplets of water will appear on the inner face of the plastic bag. This shows that the water is lost from the leaves.
