Solution

Cathodic protection of metals:

  1. The method of cathodic protection is used to control corrosion of the metals.
  2. It is usually done by making the metal into a cathode of the electrochemical cell.
  3. In this method an anode is made of sacrificial metal. This metal gets corroded instead of the metal (cathode).
