Following are the steps that were followed to clone Dolly:
To clone Dolly, two different breeds of female sheep were chosen, Scottish Blackface and Finn Dorset. (1 mark)
During the process of cloning Dolly, an egg was obtained from a Scottish Blackface sheep and a cell was collected from the mammary gland of Finn Dorset sheep simultaneously. (1 mark)
Then, the nucleus was removed from the egg of the Scottish Blackface sheep. (1 mark)
And then, the nucleus of the mammary gland cell from the Finn Dorset sheep was inserted into the egg of the Scottish Blackface sheep whose nucleus had been removed. (1 mark)
The produced egg was then implanted into the Scottish Blackface sheep. The egg then normally develops inside the sheep and eventually, Dolly was born. (1 mark)
