The following changes occurred within the composition of the Company's army:

(i) The Company started recruiting skilled troopers in place of sawars and paidal (foot) troopers.

(ii) The troopers of the company were currently armed with muskets and matchlocks.

(iii) The British began to develop a regular military culture. Troopers were progressively subjected to European- vogue training, drill and discipline that regulated their life for more than before.
