Describe the circumstances which keep the bangle makers in poverty.
The bangle makers are burdened by the stigma of caste in which they are born and the other vicious circle of politicians, bureaucrats, keepers of law, and middlemen.
They have lost the ability to dream. It is like a family occupation. People have to continue working in the same field, even though they have dreams of earning a living through something else. Grandfathers, fathers, and sons are forced to continue in the same occupation as they are born into the caste of bangle makers. They are not even allowed to form cooperatives. The children fall into the vicious circle of middlemen who trapped their grandfathers and fathers. Even if bangle makers want to organize themselves, they get picked up by the police, they are dragged to jail and beaten up by the police. They do not have any leaders who could help them. They are as tired as their fathers.
