Solution: The Andhra Maha Sangham played a pivotal role in the freedom movement of Hyderabad. In the early 20th century, a large number of books were printed in Telugu in Andhra region, and libraries were set up in towns and villages.
Later in 1901, Sri Krishnadevaraya Andhra Bhasha Nilayam was established in Hyderabad by Kommaraju Lakshmana Rao along with Nayani Venkatarangarao and Ravichettu Ranga Rao. The Andhra Basha Nilayam continues to this day.
However, the discrimination against Telugu continued in the state. A meeting was conducted in 1921 at the Viveka Vardhini College in Hyderabad. In this meeting, a person was insulted for using Telugu in their resolution, rather than writing it in English or Urdu. The Telugu-speaking people were offended by this incident and this triggered them to fight for the rightful place for Telugu in the state. Later in 1924, Madapati Hanumanta Rao and others formed the Andhra Jana Sangham to establish reading rooms and libraries.
