Fallopian tubes or uterine tubes are structures or appendages present in females that connect the ovaries to the fundus of the uterus. They are lined by ciliated simple columnar epithelium. They enable the transport of ova from the ovaries to the uterus. It basically has three segments infundibulum, ampulla, and isthmus. The ampullary-isthmic junction of the fallopian tubes is the site of fertilization of ovum and sperm in humans.
