Describe the main feature of salt march.
Salt March, also called Dandi March or Salt Satyagraha, was a major nonviolent protest against British. On March 12, 1930, Mahatma Gandhi embarked on a historic Salt March from Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad to the village of Dandi in the state’s coastal area to protest against the steep tax the British levied on salt. It was a 24 day non violent march. Gandhi reached Dandi on 6th April, manufactured salt from the sea water and violated the Salt law made by the British.
