Solution

The correct option is B False

Isotopes:

Atoms of same element, having same atomic number but different mass numbers are called isotopes.

Hydrogen has three isotopes:They are:

(i)Protium(or ordinary hydrogen) H11 has mass number(A) equal to 1 and atomic number(Z) equal to 1.

(ii)DeuteriumH12 has mass number(A) equal to 2 and atomic number(Z) equal to 1. Therefore, the number of neutrons in Deuterium are (A-Z)=(2-1=1).

(iii)Tritium [H13] has mass number(A) equal to 3 and atomic number(Z) equal to 1. Therefore, the number of neutrons in Tritium are (A-Z)=(3-1=2).

Hence,the given statement is false.
