  1. Stomata:
    1. The structure in figure A is stomata.
    2. Stomata help in transpiration in plants.
    3. It also helps in gaseous exchange in plants i.e., intake of carbon dioxide from atmosphere and release of oxygen from plants.

2. Guard cells:

  1. Guard cells control the opening and closing of stomata.
  2. When guard cells are open carbon dioxide is absorbed from the atmosphere.
  3. When the guard cells are closed, the entry of carbon dioxide is prevented.

Stoma:

  1. Stoma is the small opening in the stomata.
  2. The passage of gases and water vapour is done through the stoma opening.

3. Location of stomata:

Stomata are found in the epidermal layer of leaves of plants.
