Question

Difference between Diffusion pressure and Diffusion pressure deficit(DPD).

Open in App
Solution

Diffusion presssure Diffusion pressure deficit
The pressure exerted on the molecules of a solution when they move from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration is known as diffusion pressure. When diffusion pressure of water reduces due to presence of solutes and opposing diffusion forces in solution or cell, over its pure state, then this reduction is known as diffusion pressure deficit. It is same as suction pressure.
