Differentiate between a pure substance and a mixture.

The substance that are made of a single element or compound are called pure substances. | Several elements and compounds which are present together but not chemically combined are called as mixture. |
The physical properties of a pure substance are constant in nature as they are having a fixed ratio and proportion. | The physical and chemical properties of mixtures vary as the do not have fixed ratio and proportion. |
Pure substances cannot be separated by physical means. | Mixtures can be separated by physical means. |
Examples of pure substance are gold, pure water, hydrogen gas, etc. | Examples of mixtures are oil and water ,sand and water, etc. |
