Mixture

The substance that are made of a single element or compound are called pure substances.Several elements and compounds which are present together but not chemically combined are called as mixture.
The physical properties of a pure substance are constant in nature as they are having a fixed ratio and proportion.The physical and chemical properties of mixtures vary as the do not have fixed ratio and proportion.
Pure substances cannot be separated by physical means.Mixtures can be separated by physical means.
Examples of pure substance are gold, pure water, hydrogen gas, etc.Examples of mixtures are oil and water ,sand and water, etc.
