Consumers: Organisms that depend on the green plants and other animals for food.

Decomposers: Some microscopic organisms that feed on the dead bodies of organisms and decaying organic matter are called decomposers.

1. Consumers take the producers and other animals as their food.1. In ecosystem they take their food from the dead and decaying substances from producers and consumers.
2. On the basis of their food taking consumers are mainly three types - Primary, Secondary and Tertiary.2. Food taking habits of all are the same.
3. According to their nutrition mode they are mainly two types - herbivores and carnivores.3. Decomposers are all saprophytic in nature.
4. Most of all the animals are consumers.4. Many Bacteria and fungi play an important role as decomposers in a ecosystem.
