Differentiate between intrinsic and extrinsic protein
Intrinsic protein refers to those proteins that are embedded in the plasma membrane.
Extrinsic protein refers to those proteins loosely bound to the membrane from outside in plasma membrane.

They are also known as integral proteins or internal proteins. | They are also known as peripheral protein or external protein. |
These proteins are embedded in the plasma membrane. | These proteins are present on the periphery or surface of the plasma membrane. |
They are more hydrophobic. | They are more hydrophilic and less hydrophobic. |
