Bowman’s capsule It is a double-walled cup-like structure present at the beginning of a nephron. Malpighian body Bowman’s capsule, along with the glomerulus, is called the Malpighian body or renal corpuscle.

BOWMAN’S CAPSULE MALPIGHIAN BODY 1. Contains two epithelial cell layers. 1. Contains only one epithelial cell layer that is surrounded by podocytes and mesangial cells. 2. It surrounds the glomerulus of the kidney and has capsular space for the filtrate to enter. 2. It is the blood filtering component of the kidney 3. Receives the filtrate of the glomerulus. 3. It filters the blood and passes the filtrate to the renal tubule.
