Monohybrid cross is performed between two plants and only one character or trait is considered. For example, the flower color trait is considered for the cross. There is only one character considered and so the cross is known as monohybrid cross.

Dihybrid cross is performed between two plants and two characters are considered. For example, the flower color and the pod color are considered for the cross. There are two characters considered and so the cross is known as dihybrid cross.
