Diabetes insipidus:

1. Diabetes insipidus is caused by hyposecretion of ADH hormone from the posterior pituitary.

Diabetes mellitus:

1. Diabetes mellitus is a disorder characterised by increased blood glucose levels.
2. It is caused due to reduced secretion of insulin from the beta cell of the pancreas.
