Degenerate and Initiator

Open in App
Solution

A genetic code is the sequence of the nucleotides which codes for a particular aminoacid. A genetic code is degenerate when different codon specifies the same amino acid. An initiator codon is a codon which starts the translation of proteins. It also marks the site at which the translation begins.
