Mode of transmission-
Through unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected person.
Through contaminated blood transfusion.
By using contaminated blades, razors, needles, and syringes.
From an infected pregnant woman to the baby through the placenta.
Symptoms:
Swollen lymph nodes, recurring fever, night sweats, weight loss, decreasing blood platelets leading to blood loss, weakened immune system, and susceptibility to secondary infections.
Severe damage to the brain leads to memory loss, and the inability to speak, and think clearly.
Prevention:
By educating people and creating awareness among them regarding the spread of this dreadful disease.
Use of disposable syringes and needles.
Use of condoms during sexual intercourse.
Avoid sex with unknown people.
Screening for HIV before blood transfusion.
Stopping high-risk people from donating blood and body organs.
