Solution

AIDS or Aquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome is a disease of the immune system which is caused by the HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). It lowers the resistance of the immune system so much and makes the body susceptible to infections and malignancy (cancers).

Symptoms:

Acute flu, many overlapping infectious diseases one after the other. This is followed by a latent period. Other symptoms include weight loss, sweats, fevers, chills, prolonged fever etc.

Prevention:

The HIV spreads by body fluids. Hence transmission can be reduced by safe sex practices, avoiding multiple partners, checking during blood transfusion, not using used blades etc.
