Discuss the properties of solids, liquids and gases in terms of:

v. Rigidity

Open in App
Solution

Rigidity:

  • The molecules in the solid-state are tightly packed. Therefore, solids are hard, strong, and rigid substances.
  • The molecules in the liquid are loosely packed as compared to solids.
  • In the case of gases, the molecules are very apart from each other and hence are more loosely packed.
  • Therefore, matter in the liquid or gaseous state is not rigid.
