Question

Discuss the religious life of the people during the later vedic periods

Open in App
Solution

During the later vedic period, religion became increasingly mired in rites and rituals. New gods, namely Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, became prominent in place of early vedic deities like Indra, Agni etc. Brahmins became more important for performing religious rites. Sacrifices became more important. The religious simplicity of the early vedic period gave way to a more rigid and complex form of worship.
