Newspapers are extremely useful as a source of information about history. Newspapers provide a record of events of earlier times. Newspapers are also useful because they provide a balanced perspective than official records. Official records may only record events from the viewpoint of the government. On the other hand, newspapers often record events from multiple perspectives and is, hence, a more balanced source of information.
