INLAND FISHERY MARINE FISHERY
Freshwater pisciculture is known as inland fishery which is carried out either in complete freshwater or in brackish water. Marine pisciculture is also known as marine fishery. It is also called ‘mariculture’.
Complete freshwater pisciculture is carried out in ponds and lakes In mariculture, the fishes are cultured in salty water like sea and ocean.
Common fishes reared in complete freshwater are Catla, Silver carp, Rohu, Mrigal, etc. Tuna,pomfret, Bombay duck, and mackerel are ​ few common examples ​ of marine fishes.
