Natural resources:

Natural resources are living and non-living substances which are being exploited to meet various human demands. They are of two kinds:

  1. Inexhaustible natural resources - solar radiation, air, and water
  2. Exhaustible natural resources - fossil fuels, soil, minerals, etc.

These natural resources are managed either through short-term aims or long-term aims.

Short-term aims: Aims that provide immediate benefit to the present generation for utilizing and managing the natural resources.

Long-term aims: Aims that provide benefits to future generations along with present generations for utilizing and managing the natural resources.
