Question

Distinguish between solids, liquids and gases on the basis of their rigidity.

Open in App
Solution

Molecules in a solid are closely packed, hence solids are highly rigid. But the molecules in a liquid are less tightly packed so, they are less rigid. Gases are non-rigid as the molecules lie far apart in them.
