(a) Overloading occurs when an electric circuit draws more current than the permitted value and short circuiting occurs when the ends of a circuit are connected by a conductor of very low resistance as compared to that of circuit.
(b) The coils of electric toaster made of an alloy rather than pure metal because:−
(1) resistivity of alloys is generally higher than its constituent metals.
