Do all cells use ATP?

Open in App
Solution

ATP (Adenosine triphosphate):

  1. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is the energy-carrying molecule found in the cells of all living things.
  2. They are organic compounds.
  3. It is composed of phosphate groups with adenine and ribose sugar.
  4. It provide energy for both exergonic and endergonic processes.
  5. These breakdown in cells to release energy.
  6. Aerobic respiration releases 38 ATP molecules.
  7. Anaerobic respiration produces 2 ATP molecules.
  8. ATP captures the chemical energy obtained from the breakdown of food molecules and releases it to fuel other cellular processes.
  9. Hence, all cells require ATP for their existence and metabolism.
