The immune system is the association of different organs, tissues and proteins that are responsible for the prevention of illness and other harmful microbes like bacteria, viruses, protozoans etc. from the body.
It can be innate immunity (non-specific) or adaptive immunity (specific).
Asthma:
It is a chronic condition of swelling and narrowing of the airways and producing extra mucus blocking its lining.
This lead to difficulty in breathing, shortness of breath, coughing etc.
Asthma can be minor affecting day-to-day activities or may be life-threatening.
Asthmatics are likely to have a weaker immune system.
They are seen to be more prone to cold, flu and allergies with more severe symptoms.
The asthmatic attacks are due to an exaggerated immune response against foreign elements like dust, pollen etc.
