Question

doC12,C13 and C14 differ in reactivity ?why ?

Open in App
Solution

1. The reactivity of the elements concerns with the electrons. Thus all the isotopes C-12,C-113 and C-14 have same number of electrons so they have same reactivity.
2. However, due to increase in atomic mass,C-13 and C-14 tend to react slower than C-12 being heavier than C-12.
