Question

Do calcium salts react with aqueous ammonia?

Open in App
Solution

calcium salts do not react wih aquous ammonia (ammonium hydroxide) Ammonium hydroxide is a weak base that means on ionisation it can form low concentration of [OH-] ions.
Because of the concentration of OH- ions from the ionisation of NH4OH is low that it cannot react with calcium salts to precipitate the hydroxide of calcium.
