Diastereomers:
Diastereomers are those compounds that have the same molecular formula but also have non-superimposable non-mirror images.
These compounds are optically active stereoisomers.
For example: $Cis and trans - 2 - butene$ , $(R, S) and (S, S) 3 - bromo - 2 - butanol$ .
Therefore, diastereomers have optical activity.
