Solution

You are wrong!

Most elements are solid at room temperature.

Some elements exist as gases Eg:- hydrogen, oxygen etc.

but only two elements, mercury (Hg) and bromine (Br) are liquids at room temperature (approx 25oC).

  • If 25oC is below the melting point of the element, then the element is a solid at room temperature.
  • If 25oC is between the melting and the boiling points of the element, then the element is a liquid at room temperature.
  • If 25oC is above the boiling point of the element, then the element is a gas at room temperature.
