Solution
Prokaryote's origin of replication:
The majority of prokaryotes have a single replication origin, yet the rate of replication is extremely high. In E.coli, replication occurs at a rate of 1000 nucleotides per second and takes 18 minutes to complete.
The replication origin (also known as the replication start site) is a specific segment in a genome where replication begins.
A double-stranded DNA molecule is copied to create two identical DNA molecules through the process of DNA replication. Because every time a cell splits, the two new daughter cells must have the same genetic material, or DNA, as the parent cell, replication is a crucial process.
To ensure that each daughter cell receives the entire complement of chromosomes, prompt and correct duplication of DNA through semiconservative replication prior to cell division is required for genetic material propagation between generations.
This can take the form of DNA replication in living organisms like prokaryotes.
