Female reproductive system:

  1. In females, the reproductive system is formed of the external and internal sex organs, which helps in the process of reproduction, that is, producing new offspring.
  2. The process by which organisms produce more offspring like themselves is known as reproduction.
  3. In the female reproductive system, the external part is the vulva and the internal reproductive organs are the vagina, fallopian tubes, uterus, and ovaries.
  4. One of the factors, which influences the female reproductive system is aging.
  5. The chemical messengers, which help in the process of reproduction are the hormones.
  6. With age, the fluctuation in the levels of hormones affects the female reproductive system.
  7. One the example is ceasing of menstrual periods when a woman attains a certain age, known as menopause.
  8. The majority of the women encounter menopause between the ages of 45 to 55.
  9. With the changes in the patterns of menstrual periods, the reproductive tract also goes through modifications in its physical aspects with age.
  10. At the time of menopause, the ovaries completely stop producing hormones like progesterone and estrogen and stop releasing eggs, thus, a woman can no longer conceive.
  11. Therefore, it can be said that age matters when it comes to the female reproductive system.
