Open in App
Solution

Blood flow:

  1. The heart is the central organ of the circulatory system.
  2. Blood flows through the blood vessels arteries, veins and also capillaries.
  3. This helps in the circulation of nutrients and oxygen and the removal of various waste products.
  4. During physical activities, blood flow to contracting muscles increases.
  5. The muscles start to work more, so there is more need of oxygen.
  6. Blood carries a greater amount of oxygen and the heart responds to pump more oxygenated blood to meet up the oxygen demand.
  7. Muscles also require more ATPs in order to contract or relax, thus bringing about movement.
