Question

why does heart rate increase during fever or high blood pressure

Open in App
Solution

During high blood pressure, the arteries may have an increased resistance against the blood flow which cause the heart to pump the blood at high rate. Due to this heart rate increases in condition of high blood pressure.
Vasoconstriction and increased blood pressure causes increased heart rate in fever. Increase in body temperature is a defence mechanism to destroy pathogens.
