The reaction involved when Carboxylic acid react with Sodium metal:

Step 1: The salt and Hydrogen gas is produced when Carboxylic acid react with any metal.

Step 2: When Carboxylic acid react with Sodium metal, they produce salt of Sodium metal and Hydrogen. For example- When Carboxylic acid react with Sodium metal, Sodium acetate is formed with evolution of Hydrogen.

Step 3: The reaction involved is 2CH3COOH+2Na2CH3COONa+H2

Hence, The reaction of Carboxylic with Sodium metal is possible.
