Oviduct:
The oviduct is the tube through which an egg or ovum passes from an ovary.
The oviduct comprises of an infundibulum, ampulla and isthmus.
Fertilization in oviduct:
The haploid sperm meets the haploid ovum in a specific region of the oviduct which is known as ampulla, resulting in fertilization.
This leads to the formation of a zygote which is diploid in nature.
