Does our blood have proteases and nucleases?
Human blood does not have nucleases. But a variety of serine proteases (thrombin, plasmin, Hageman factor) are present in blood serum that plays an important role in blood-clotting, as well as in lysis of the clots.
Some other proteases (elastase and cathepsin G) are present in leukocytes and have several different roles in metabolic control. They also facilitate the proper action of the immune system.
