Examples of:
1. Hinge joint: Allows movement in only one plane. Elbow joint and knee joint.
2. Pivot joint: Primary movement is a rotation. Also allows movement in only one plane. The joint between the radius and ulna just below the elbow.
3. Axial skeleton: Part of the skeleton that consists of bones of head and trunk. This includes skull bone, ossicles of the middle ear, hyoid bone, the rib cage, sternum and the vertebral column.
4. Appendicular skeleton: Part of the skeleton consisting of bones that support the appendages. This includes forelimbs, hindlimbs and bones supporting the pectoral and pelvic girdle.
